Our Life in Stationery - October Recap of Maggie Moore Studio
What's New in Store with Maggie Moore
Let's talk October! As usual it went by in a flash and just like that it's Halloween and we're making plans for Thanksgiving just weeks away. Make it stop! To kick off the month I took a little road trip with my husband and the Rem Dog to Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley. The weather was gorgeous and it was nice to get away for a bit. And if we're being honest, we really wanted the dog to have a getaway. I thought I would do a lot of drawing and designing of new Maggie Moore things while we were away but I did not at all, which is sometimes kind of nice to turn off for a bit and enjoy some new scenery. We had an Airbnb right on the side of a ski slope so we could just step outside and hike up the mountain.
Sam packed up the boys and took them to Ocean City for a weekend of Halloween Fun. They love decorating and dressing up for Halloween. When Alex came to my house he asked where my Halloween decorations were. This year, Alex wanted to be Pikachu and Brooks wanted to be a train. As busy as Sam is, yes she made a homemade train costume complete with headlight. Love it!
Maggie Moore IRL Events
We had two whole Maggie Moore events in October. First up was another Ladies Night at Ace Hardware, this time in Canton hon'. And the ladies turned out! It was super busy all night with women coming in for everything on sale, vendors, DIY projects, food and drinks from Peabody Heights Brewing. I got some more of the Pumpkin Mead from Charm City Meadworks. Captain Bobby from Sail Local stopped by to check out the event and when I saw him I grinned and waved like we were old friends and not the guy I watch on Instagram Reels every day. If you're in Baltimore, definitely give him a follow.
Next up Sam and I along with our helper Alex popped up at the Bits and Bobs fall market at Cross Keys. Our table was conveniently located right across from ZaVino Italian Marketplace so we could smell the scent of fresh pizza wafting out all day and of course we sampled some for lunch. It was a great turnout despite our major technical difficulties with our Shopify App. But let's face it, it wouldn't be a Maggie Moore pop up without the Shopify app causing us to have a near complete meltdown.
Moore Stuff
This month you can find Maggie Moore in three new stores. In Maryland you can now find us close to home at the Wildlife Authority a store for birders in Ellicott City so I will have to check this out. Now that I'm in my fifties I really enjoy watching the birds. Maybe it's a symptom of menopause. If you're in the Philly area, check out a new stationery shop for us, Pen and Paper in Bryn Mawr. We wish we were closer to Soul Patina in Wisconsin because it looks so cute and you can now find Maggie Moore there too! If you know of a shop that should carry Maggie Moore drop it in the comments below or harass them until they reach out to us.
Moore happening in November
It's holiday crunch time so we are looking forward to our next event in November which will be at the Ridgely Middle School Craft Fair on November 8th. We did this market our first few years in the biz but we've missed out the last few years because it always seems to coincide with my birthday. But we are excited to be back this year so mark your calendars and come say hi and shop Maggie Moore.
That brings us to November is my birthday month! I'm turning 53 on the 12th - how can that possibly be?! Maybe we will do a sale, haven't decided so make sure you are on our email list so you are in the know!
even moore stuff
What are we watching? The Great British Baking Show of course and the finals are coming up. It's always sad when it ends and we have to wait for another one. It looks like Jasmine is going to run away with it but we've been surprised before. And Survivor of course!
Your favorite Maggie Moore card of the month? The Happy Bird Day Ravens card. The team seems to be back on track and we love that!
